Get the Capital One Savor $500 Sign-Up Offer While You Can (Dropping to $300?)

Update: This offer is no longer available. Check here to see the latest card offers!

Right now, the sign-up bonus for the Capital One Savor card is showing as a $300 cash bonus once you spend $3,000 on purchases within 3 months from account opening on the Capital One website.

You’ll also earn:

  • 4% cashback on dining and entertainment
  • 2% cashback at grocery stores
  • 1% cashback everywhere else
  • Free Postmates Unlimited membership through December 2019 (as a statement credit)
  • Learn more here

The $95 annual fee is waived the first year. If you spend even moderately on dining or entertainment, this is a great card to consider with a really generous $500 cash bonus.

If I weren’t trying to stay under 5/24, I’d get this in a heartbeat. Keep in mind Capital One pulls from all 3 credit bureaus when you apply for a new card.

And I’ll remind you about those bonus categories!

Capital One Savor $300 Bonus

The best public offer for the Capital One Savor card right now is:

Capital One Savor$300 Cash
• 4% cashback on dining and entertainment

• 2% cashback at grocery stores

• No limit to how much you can earn
• $95 annual fee• $3,000 on purchases within 3 months from account opening
• Learn more here

4% cashback on dining is straightforward enough, but 4% cashback on entertainment could be surprisingly lucrative. That’s because it’s a broader category than you might think.

Capital One says it’s:

Ticket purchases made at movie theaters, sports promoters (professional and semi-professional live events), theatrical promoters, amusement parks, tourist attractions, aquariums, zoos, dance halls, record stores, pool halls or bowling alleys.

So that could include:

  • Season passes for sporting events 🏈⚾️
  • Tickets at your local theaters for plays, concerts, movies… 🎬🎭🎤🎟
  • Visiting the zoo, arboretum, or museums 🦁🌳🎨
  • Nights at the bowling alley or skating rink ⛸
  • Theme park tickets, like Disney World, Six Flags, and Legoland 🎢
  • Dance clubs and pool halls 💃🎱

A lot of entertainment spending is quite pricey, so this category alone can make the Savor card worth keeping long-term.

The card also comes with:

  • Extended warranty
  • Price protection for up to 120 days (automate it with Earny!)
  • NO foreign transaction fees
  • $10 credit for every 5 Lyft rides per month (save even more with Freebird, too)
  • 5% cash rewards at
  • $5 off every Postmates order of $25+ (and you’ll still earn 4% cashback!)
  • Up to $800 in cell phone insurance when you pay your bill with the card (including cosmetic scratches)

With the Capital One Savor, you’ll get a free Postmates Unlimited membership, $5 off $25+ orders, and 4% cashback – pretty sweet!

So there’s actually a lot going for this card.

Is it worth it?

Really, there’s not much downside.

Capital One is known to be finicky with approvals, but if you don’t mind the hard pulls, it’s worth an application. Again, I’d keep it around purely for the entertainment category.

You’d need to spend ~$2,375 per year in the 4% categories to recover the $95 annual fee starting the second year.

That divides to ~$198 per month on dining and entertainment combined, which isn’t much. And you can easily cover the annual fee with the card’s other benefits.

Now that I’m looking at it, I gotta admit, feeling a little FOMO. I’ll definitely snag it if this offer ever comes back ’round.

Bottom line

Hope this post gave you insight on the Capital One Savor card.

With a $300 cash bonus, excellent 4% cashback categories, and useful real-world bennies, there’s a lot to like about it.

If you’ve been on the fence, word is the welcome offer could drop to $300 any time now. Grab the better deal while you can.

Have a good rest of the weekend – and let me know if you decide to apply!
