I had the good fortune to visit Guadalajara, Mexico for a night as part of my trip from LAX-GDL then GDL-ATL. (Click to read my experience in Aeromexico’s economy class.)
I wasn’t expecting many (or any) amenities at GDL, but pulled up my Priority Pass app on my phone just for kicks. There is one Priority Pass lounge in Terminal 1, and I was able to go for free thanks to my American Express Platinum card – Priority Pass Select membership comes with the card.
I headed over to the lounge not expecting much, but was very pleasantly surprised (the best kind of surprise?).
The lounge
The staff here is wonderful. They were kind, generous, and very attentive. They went over all the features of the lounge, and offered to bring me coffee and pastries, even though the coffee was accessible on the bar. I accepted, and went to set my things down and have a look around. Shortly after, they brought everything over and set it down. I’ve rarely experienced service of this level at an airport lounge.
At the VIP lounge, you’ll find the usual snacks, wifi, outlets, and seating. They also have private resting rooms, a business center, a separate area for children to play, and more than enough available seating.
I was able to get some work done during my time here, as it had everything I want in an airport lounge, and then some.
Bottom line
If you are ever in GDL and flying out of Terminal 1, this is a fantastic little gem of a lounge. The staff is wonderful and it is very peaceful and welcoming.
The agent gave me a bottle of water to take with the to the plane and wished me a safe flight. It had a great feeling overall, and while I wouldn’t go out of my way to connect at GDL, if I ever get back, I’d make time to hang out here for a couple of hours.
