American Express Refer a Friend is back / Call for referrals

Off the heels of Chase’s recent refer-a-friend program, American Express is letting cardmembers refer new members to cards they currently hold.

I’m down to two American Express cards at the moment – the Platinum Card, and the Amex EveryDay Preferred (which I love).

Here’s what my offers look like:

The terms of the offer state that I have to refer people by August or September of 2015 (August 17th for Platinum Card, September 24th for EveryDay Preferred), which is most of the year – so it looks like this program will stick around for at least the better part of 2015.

You get 15K Membership Rewards points with the EveryDay Preferred card and 40K points with the Platinum Card.

15K points is standard with the EveryDay Preferred card, so I am happy to send referrals to that one all day and all night. You may be able to get a targeted sign-up bonus with the Platinum Card, however, for 50K points or even 100K points. I’m happy to refer anyone, but just know that there might be better offers in the mix. You can always ask them to bump your bonus after the fact, but YMMV.

Also, here is the link if you would like to refer friends of yours to cards you have.

Bottom line

American Express is letting cardmembers refer their friends and family to cards they currently hold. I’d love to send out some referrals if anyone’s had their eye on these cards. I really, truly love the EveryDay Preferred card and consider it to be the strongest card that earns Membership Rewards. If you want a referral, email me at zynner (at) gmail and let me know!

Also use the link above to refer your friends and family and get some extra points yourself. This promo is going on for quite a while, so keep this one in your back pocket!
