Announcing Out for Miles: A Card Advisory Service for Newbies

This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. And I finally did it. Here’s Out for Miles. I’ll help you choose which cards to start with, tailored to your travel goals and preferred travel style.

Ring, ring. It’s Out for Miles 🙂

Here’s more about the new service. And how it’s different!

Out for Miles Credit Card Consultation

There are a lot of award booking services out there – they aim to help you use your miles as efficiently as possible in exchange for a service fee.

But what about the period of time between getting your first card and earning enough miles to book an award? Where should you start and which miles should you focus on collecting?

Out for Miles is a new service that addresses the gap between beginning with miles and booking an award trip. I’ll recommend which cards are best for your goals.

For $99, you’ll get a 1-hour appointment to ask me anything that’s been on your mind about credit cards, like:

  • How the rewards work
  • Which miles are best for certain itineraries
  • Bank application rules
  • Airline recommendations
  • How the airline alliances let you access hundreds more flight options
  • Where to look for your ideal award

Get more of these views! And gain the confidences to start collecting points for award trips

When you book, you’ll fill out a brief questionnaire so I can start researching cards for your situation. When we talk, we’ll refine it down to the best cards for you. And I’ll do all the work!

You’ll also get:

  • Written plan with card recommendations
  • 3 follow-up emails (full of tips!) to make sure you’re going in the right direction
  • Confidence to build your credit responsibly while seeing the world 🌎

How Out for Miles is different

There are similar services out there – some are even free. So why Out for Miles?

Save yourself endless back and forth emails. Gather your questions and get thorough explanations in one conversation. Ask what you don’t understand. Ask until you do.

Verbal communication (or a video conversation) saves you time. Because you don’t have to wait for the answers. You stay engaged with someone who understands your unique goals.

Other services ask you to fill out a long form and wait for an emailed reply. With Out for Miles, you make an appointment and get to talk to a person about what’s on your mind.

When you book the service, you’ll get 3 follow-up emails (they’re automated at the 1-month, 3-month, and 6-month mark). And you can reply with your questions. I’m happy to give more follow-up, if you need it.

I’ll also keep a file with the questions you’ve already answered, a document of our conversation, and which cards you got. So if you have more questions, I’ll already know exactly where you are in the process. The personalization, phone call, and follow-up are what set Out for Miles apart.

Why am I qualified?

Points & miles are my life. I was an editor for Million Mile Secrets for 3 years. And I’ve worked directly with major banks and loyalty program – in person at their offices.

I also am “in the weeds” with points programs and card offers because the compliance to show card offers is stringent. I know the major bank cards, issuer rules, and rewards programs.

I’m going to do this ethically. In exchange for booking the service, you will get the very best card offers publicly available. If you find a better offer, I’ll refund the fee.

Everyone is welcome, and I’m vehemently dedicated to inclusiveness without discrimination based on race, gender expression, sexuality, or any other factors. If you want to work with me, I want to work with you. And for my part of the work, I want to start you off the right way toward your first big award trip (the first one is such a rush). I want to help you get that!

Bottom line

Open for business: Out for Miles! Launching this service is a dream come true for me. I want to help newbies start on the best path when they begin with patient, thorough explanations from someone who knows rewards programs inside out.

I’m inclusive, ethical, and experienced. When you book, you’ll get a one-on-one phone call, 3 follow-up emails, and a written plan. And you’ll also get to ask all your questions until you have the confidence to start collecting points for your first award trip!

I’ve always said I could talk about points & miles all day. Now it’s happening. I’d love to help you or someone you know get started on the path toward free (or really cheap) travel!

Any questions about how it works? Let me know in the comments!
